Coping With a Breakup – A guide

When a relationship ends it is never a good time in the lives of either party. Whatever the reason for the split it will always be painful and all sorts of unpleasant emotions can be brought up. However it is not all bad, even in the middle of a difficult breakup or messy divorce there can be positives. Often people will learn from their mistakes and grow as individuals as a result.

When coping with a breakup often people forget to look after themselves. Give yourself plenty of rest and if possible minimise the amount of external stress. Avoid using alcohol to deal with your emotions. It can seem like a release at the time but long term it is never the answer. Neither is turning to food or drugs.
